Are there any programmes not eligible?
- The scholarship is only available for programs that begin in September 2023, so if you choose to start your program in September 2024, you will no longer be eligible.
- This scholarship is not available to students who want to take a course only offered through a “distance learning” program.
- Students applying to programs at the Birmingham Business School are not eligible for this scholarship; however, they are eligible for the Business School’s separate MSc and MBA scholarships.
- Not eligible are undergraduate programs such as the MBChB, MEng, MSci, and MPharm.
- The MPhil, MRes, MMus, and MLit graduate degrees are ineligible. Additionally, the PGCert and PGDip programs are ineligible.
- This scholarship is not available to University of Birmingham Dubai campus students.
Who is Eligible For the Scholarship?
Candidates must meet the following requirements to be eligible. You should:
- have applied for and been granted admission to a taught Master’s degree program at the UK campus of the University of Birmingham for the 2023/24 academic year.
- be considered “domiciled” in one of the chosen nations. Please see the following list.
- for the purposes of paying tuition, be considered an international student by the university.
- In September or October of 2023, you will begin a full-time course at the UK campus of the University.
- should have a letter from the university offering a Master’s degree taught.

Awarding
Scholarships will be given out in accordance with the above-mentioned application and admission procedures and the criteria for eligibility. For visa application purposes, the university will make every effort to enter the scholarship information into each student’s
CAS record (this “note” will be visible to the UKVI but not to the student). The scholarship, which can be used as a discount on tuition, will be given to the successful candidate when they enroll in September 2023.
